Diverse stories, great sense of humour
I love that the stories and creatures of the week come from diverse cultures—not just European and American, but also African and East Asian. Jason has a great sense of humour and I enjoy his sharing of his takes on the stories after telling them. Although the stories are often told in a lively way, it’s still comfortable enough to listen to just before bed. The witty dialogue takes some liberties from the source material, but that’s what makes the telling special. Also, lots of research is done into variations of the tales, which is no small feat.
