There are more recent laws on tech than the 1990s
DMCA 2004 (digital mill. copyright act) regulated content on internet and how it would be ajudicated. This law concentrates on copyright activity but, through that process, regulates tech's activities by making them accountable for their actions, as well as their inaction. What tech doesn't like is the responsibility because it is an industry built on open-source, growth through creative sharing, but with disregard to the financial rights of anyone. That was their fighting chant until they found ways to utilize that content for their profit, then they wanted open-protection, an opportunity to grow wealth without limits. That's not a new idea in US industry. It is just a new industry where the people in charge of regulating it have too little personal knowledge. They lack the ability to comprehend solutions because there is no roadmap through the problems without getting the industry leaders included in the conversation. That makes it hard to keep the People's interests at the forefront.Read full review »
