Not what it once was
Used to be the top football podcast mainly thanks to the well driven insight of Tom Fordyce and the behind the scenes look at football from the voice of Peter crouch however, too much input from Chris Stark who thinks he’s still on Radio 1 playing silly games with his radio friends, interruptions that take it too far away from football and of course the painful amount of adverts has made this no longer one of my go to podcasts. Been in steady decline probably since Crouch Fest 2 but that’s just my opinion, occasionally a good guest or topic in the style of how the podcast originally set out “that changing room episode” etc, does make for a welcome return to better form but it’s not just not the same product as the BBC version. Much preferred Statman Dave for again a focus on interesting football stats to interplay with the discussion but Steve “Sids” Sidwell offers very little other than sone very repetitive stories about Mourinho, the rest of his career quite unremarkable.

Statman Dave is a seriously good addition.

The appeal of the bbc show was the accessibility. Doing one for the money is the antithesis of this. But then again Chris Stark as the ‘Karl from Ricky Gervais pod’ was always painful.
