I’m enjoying Mike as the new host with Angela.
Bush_2 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 11/12/23
Great mix of topics presented with a lot of energy and charisma but I can’t get over how often Angela Duckworth uses the filler word “like” 😬. Angela, it will be a hard habit to break. Please try to take your oration skills to the next level: your podcasts and university lectures will profit from...Read full review »

Hot take, but I actually have been enjoying the show with the new cohost. It’s taken a more intellectual route imo and I like the fresh perspective and business angle that the new host provides. Longtime listener of Dubner as well, but I’ve listened to so many hours now to the point where I could...Read full review »

I used to love this show so much that I’m looking forward to the update every Sunday. When Dubner left, this show sounds not that much fun to me as before. However, I’m trying to adjust myself to fall back in love with this show.

Every time I refresh me feed to see the Sunday new topic it is always spot on! Somehow I can apply current events in my life to each. Timely always, so maybe timeless and that’s why you are so good at selecting them! Thank you thank you.

Academic and popular content fall short. Imposter syndrome segment is a difficult listen.

Long time listener, great topics, awesome content, loved the Dubner/Duckworth combo, but lately, it’s starting to sound like the show is low-key ‘Presented by Qualtrics’. Can Mike offer experiential input without the ‘contractually obligated’-sounding name drops? I’ll take my answer off the air.

Thank you for delving into these questions. I very much enjoy each topic and you both present the discussions so insightfully. Keep up the excellent work!

I love Dubner on Freakonomics and paired with Duckworth is just the best idea. Two highly intelligent, interesting, articulate people talking about topics that are always interesting. I’m not sure if they’re just inherently interesting topics or these two make them interesting. It’s something I...Read full review »

Not the same without Dubner. I have listened to every episode of this show since the beginning and since Stephen left, it’s just not the same. I miss the witty banter and intellectual pingpong. I don’t listen anymore, I’m sad to say. I wonder how many listeners they lost

I just started listening to podcasts, and I am so thankful to have found this show by two very intelligent and funny horses. I totally agree with GoogleLove’s review about different hosts and truly appreciate Dr. Angela’s honesty and insightful remarks. This show makes all boring and burning...Read full review »

This show used to be great, but Angela has grown so rude and self centered that I can no longer listen to the show. Her attitude towards people that don’t achieve is terrible and the way she just thinks she’s the best at everything is the worst. The way they both are rude to the guy who is “in a...Read full review »

When I first started playing this podcast and then subscribed to NSQ, it quickly became one of Favorite Podcasts. No offense to Mike, but I just don’t feel the same spark, get the same...Read full review »

Angela is such a brilliant and entertaining conversationalist, but intellectually stimulating conversations need two equally matched partners. Angela and Stephen had such great chemistry and I looked so forward to their weekly ‘dance’, as Adam Grant would say. Mike seems like a very nice guy, but...Read full review »

Well, after listening to a couple more Mike and Angela episodes, I have unsubscribed to NSQ. It’s no longer an exchange/debate between two equal-weight different-but-compatible viewpoints. Instead, Mike is basically just interviewing Angela. The same thing happened to Chicago Booth’s...Read full review »

Stephen Dubner added the humor, banter, and charm that is now just missing. I feel like a key ingredient that drew me to this podcast has been lost.

Super fun and funny show to listen to. I highly recommend everyone to listen to this podcast. Moreover, you can study English too while enjoying it.

Look, we all likely discovered this podcast through Stephen Dubner. And yes, it’s not gonna be the same without him. However angela and Mike work very well together. The show is still interesting and informative and Mike has a bit of a sarcastic edge. Not Stephen but he’s cool.

When Mr. Dubner said his goodbyes, I said goodbye to this podcast. Without his dry wit and self-deprecating humor, it's just 30mins of name dropping and family angst (it's not pronounced AHN-st).Read full review »

Angela and Mike are a great team! Their chemistry is perfect for the show, Mike is so charming! It was big shoes to fill with Stephen & Angie’s original pairing being so enjoyable. But Mike is a breath of fresh air!

While I really liked Angela and Stephen together and miss him a lot, Mike has been a great replacement. I wasn’t a fan of the temporary host prior to Mike. I’m certain she is lovely but she was so dry. Angela and Stephen’s banter, and now Angela’s and Mike’s is what makes the show gel.

Love the topic! And the podcast. Getting used to the host switch-up. Would be great if Ange Duck got a reasonable dose of humility…. A bit too many “humble brags” and self puffing for me to move it back to 5-stars where it belongs (and has been since launched). I’d love for NSQ to stay...Read full review »

This is an entirely different podcast without Dubner, and not for the better. The best parts of the OG pod were when Stephen and Angela disagreed politely and brought up differences. Now the conversation is boring. My rating of three stars is because the old pod was so good. I’m unsubscribing.

I love love love this podcast. The topics are interesting, they pull a lot from their audience and the fact check at the end is one of my favorite parts! Is it possible to find a replacement for Dubner who can match Angela with such unique, quirky, and intellectual banter? Not sure if it’s possible but perhaps try other male co-hosts to start.
