“All good until the last episode. Wrapping a story up seems to be an issue in many podcasts, but I’m not sure they try to conclude the story here. In fact, the conclusion has little to do with the story. It uses a request by one of the officers to skip forward 40 years. It then employs the request creating a straw man to arrive at a conclusion of contemporary significance. I’m not sure the conclusion compliments the story at all, except that it’s so off base you will think back to the story to see how they may have ended up here. The story is interesting. It deserves better.
I want a story not ideology—whether right or wrong. The production assumes that I am unable or unwilling to make contemporary applications so it does it for me. It’s an increasingly common mistake. There are more subtle ways to make your point that will serve you, and your agenda better. This team is talented, they’ll figure it out. Cheers.”
