Stilted and flat
Not sure why this has such high ratings. I’ve listened to five episodes so far and I find the podcast style to be flat and stilted and her episodes rather too short to really delve into what each story is really about. There are long awkward pauses, so much so I thought there was something wrong with my phone. Her accent is fine but an accent does not a good podcast make. Her affect is emotionless yet she goes into somewhat gory detail of the crimes while leaving other information out, for example, in episode 2 terror in Oslo she mentions the killer was not accepted as a conscript but doesn’t mention why, that could have been interesting. At any rate I will continue listening since I’m only on the first episodes and hope it will improve, otherwise I find this pretty meh.
