Muholland and the St. Francis Dam collapse 1928
Excellent, and a must-hear for any knucklehead California resident, bec it is one of the great stories of the 20th century. "Don't blame anyone else. You just fasten it on me." This is dynamite, one of the great California stories of the 20th century. When St Francis dam collapsed, it caused the second biggest total loss-of-life (other than SF earthquake) in Cal. The dam leaked constantly after construction in '26 -- local people joked, "See you later, if the dam don't break." 400 people died. Muholland, the engineer, did the great mea culpa, and was the basis for Chinatown movie's Hollis Mulwray.
