Literarily Lacking Something
BookRiot is a great source of podcasts about books and reading. The main podcast is superb, as are the genre ones that I subscribe to. Literary fiction was a huge gap in the provision and I was pleased to see it filled. Having started well and having covered some great topics, I don’t yet look forward to the episodes. It’s great to have the cross pond presenters (US and UK) but there is a real lack of chemistry and a clunkiness to the output. I also question the credentials of someone discussing literary fiction who knows nothing about the Booker prize and often discusses how to slog to the end of a book (many of us read for pleasure, not a tick list). Hopefully it will bed in.

This is exactly the podcast I was looking for. The hosts seem to thinking hard about what makes something literature, and they include diverse voices/writers with genuine enthusiasm. My TBR list has grown every time I listen. Love it.

I’m fairly new to literary podcasts but this has quickly become a favourite. The discussions between the two hosts are interesting and intelligent, but also funny and filled with warmth so that you feel that you are amongst friends. I look forward to more episodes!
