History as it should be
I am so sorry Now and Then has come to an end, for myself and for the American voters who could use this dose of common sense that draws a clear line from the past to the present. People need to understand the past befire the can understanding the trajectory. Good fortunes in your future activies, Heather and Joanne. Missed the survey but wanted to say that you are doing everything right. Always fascinating, frequently riveting. Excellent illustration of why the study of the past is essential to an understanding of our present. Now and Then is everything a podcast should be: informative, thought-provoking, and easy to listen to. I enjoy how much these two skilled and talented professors enjoy researching and sharing relevant events from American history to provide context for today’s news. History does not have to be exclusively grim and solemn. Cognitive dissonance can have its amusing side. The opportunity to share laughter is always a welcome bonus.

The truth behind the propaganda and buzz feeds we see and hear in the media. Always an education and new perspective on not only current events, but also the historical circumstances that have shaped America.

I love hearing about how our history reflects many of the issues we are facing today. These two amazing historians help frame current events with a past that many of us never fully heard.
