History as it should be
I am so sorry Now and Then has come to an end, for myself and for the American voters who could use this dose of common sense that draws a clear line from the past to the present. People need to understand the past befire the can understanding the trajectory. Good fortunes in your future activies, Heather and Joanne. Missed the survey but wanted to say that you are doing everything right. Always fascinating, frequently riveting. Excellent illustration of why the study of the past is essential to an understanding of our present. Now and Then is everything a podcast should be: informative, thought-provoking, and easy to listen to. I enjoy how much these two skilled and talented professors enjoy researching and sharing relevant events from American history to provide context for today’s news. History does not have to be exclusively grim and solemn. Cognitive dissonance can have its amusing side. The opportunity to share laughter is always a welcome bonus.

Smart, informative historical information placed in current context. This team is compelling to listen to and the listener leaves having learned something old and new. You will wait in the car to hear them end.

I have been following Heather Cox Richardson for some time now and watched Heather and Joanne’s first recorded discussion (What Makes A Game Changing President) under the Cafe badge. It was excellent! I have no doubt that this podcast will be informative and highly educational.

Thank you so much! When our actual democracy is under attack it helps to understand the parallels of where we’ve been and where we are.
