A must for all Fall fans - witty and moving. Holds the world record for mentioning how great the cover of Lost in Music is.

I found the episode with Una Baines and was looking forward to what I thought would be an interesting and insightful interview but it was ruined by the ‘interviewers’ constant interruptions, inane childish laughing, talking about themselves and random diversions that had nothing to do with Una or...Read full review »

Carry on y’all. Every episode has been an interesting listen. You’ve definitely improved on the production side. The first episodes were a tough listen, especially the live from a pub and the sweet accents, but whatever the complaints, I’m in.

The Hanley’s sense of rock/pop history is remarkable. I’m still waiting for a Magma or Art Bears reference! Doubtless, we’ll get there in time…

Great for fall fans and music lovers! What fall song would you have wanted to play on The Young Ones tv show?

Funny, honest, revealing, and quite frankly, one of the best music podcasts on the internet. I listen to this when I’m out walking and I’m sure the neighbours think I’m nuts as I wonder pass their houses, laughing my head off at one of the many stories that pepper the narrative. Obligatory...Read full review »

Much appreciation and gratitude to Steve and Paul Hanley for having the foresight and gumption to conceive and carry forth with this series. May it never end!

Entertaining, enlightening, essential.

The bros. Hanley do it again. I’ve loved every episode bug they’ve outdone themselves with Steve Albini. It’s like sitting in a pub listening to some mates talk all things Fall. Always honest, with great anecdotes. It’s a privilege to hear Steve talk about the good and hurtful times with openness...Read full review »

I try to ignore annoying intake of breath sounds , beer burps and eating noises but by ‘eck it’s almost like you don’t give a monkeys. 😆

Hope you can get Julia Nagle on - I don’t know if this is a popular or unpopular opinion but that run of albums she’s on are my favourite period musically - weird stuff!

Love these guys! The lo-fi production can be a little hard on the ears but I’m on on board anyhow.

Not to sound too dorky, but this really is the coolest thing ever.

If you like The Fall you will love this. The Hanley brothers and assorted guests talk all things Fall. MES would have hated it 😂

Fun, laidback look inside the Fall by the two guys who may have the best insight into the group. Nice to hear from the guests so far as well. The Handleys don’t have an axe to grind or any agenda; it’s like hanging out in the pub and hearing stories about the Fall and the scene in general. Could...Read full review »

Fascinating insights into the Fall from people who were there. Confirms and debunks in equal measure.

Full of interest and insight, and it’s great to hear the enthusiasm of the Hanley brothers, who have obviously remained massive Fall fans. Makes you want to join in the conversation, as the very best podcasts do.

Great to hear the Hanley Brothers reminisce. As a Fall fan from the US from 1987 it was difficult to hear interviews or find information back in the day! I had one of those Mark E Smith for Drain Comissioner signs as well! Love both the Hanley brothers’ books as well. Looking forward to more!

This is absolutely wonderful! Really hope you carry on and get other guests in. Not just for Fall fans (though to be fair it does help a lot).

Fantastic new Fall-based podcast from two insiders. If the first episode is anything to go by this is going to be a treat. Essential listening for any Fall fan.

... since Mike & Bernie Winters. Off to a great start. First episode was a hoot. Would be good to round up as many ex-Fall guys and gals for this (especially K. Burns!) This could run and run. Let’s hope so!

This is gold dust for us lot who experienced The Fall only from afar, via John Peel, NME, the records and the occasional gig. The best rhythm section west of Glossop are in harmony and hitting every beat. 😊

The first episode not only gives insight into the early years of the fall through Steve’s eyes (slightly to early for Paul’s, apart from the egg incident and a few other interesting recollections) it also paints a picture of the Manchester scene as a whole at the time. The Hanley’s chemistry and...Read full review »

For a US Fan of the Fall, stumbling on this made my day. I was the guy in the Big Midweek who provided Steve and Band the “Mark E. Smith for Drain Commissioner” backdrop in Philly. Great episode with lots of laughs. Would love to grab a pint with Steve and/or Steve and Paul someday if our...Read full review »

If you have an hour going (and who doesn’t at the moment) you could do worse then spend it in the company of these two some insights into early Fall and Manchester at the time band name dropping all great fun

I like podcasts where you feel like you’re eavesdropping on pals who are chatting about something that they know enough about to be interesting, so this show, featuring two brothers (and also pals, clearly) talking about their seminal time in The Fall ticks all off my boxes exhaustively.
