Is it weird a podcast changed my life?
I deeply love Ologies. A smart and caring roommate recommended the dolorology episode to me after I told her how much trouble I was having recovering from a work-induced injury and the trauma surrounding it. That episode put me on a path that quite literally helped me heal from the inside out (shoutout to Rachel Zoffness). Fast forward to May 25th, 2023, and the episode about the WGA strike. This ep. discussed some of the very real issues in the film industry, the industry I was working in when I was injured! I have never written a podcast review, but in this full circle moment I had to thank her for shining even a little bit of light on how awful the conditions can be for those who work in film. (And for mentioning how much heavy lifting below the line workers do. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s a lot, y’all.) I love this podcast, I love Alie, and I love everyone that makes Ologies possible. Thank you, you have forever changed my life and Alie, if I ever get to meet you, I am going to give you a huge (consensual) hug. Please be prepared.
