Businessman, Investor and Ex-Tory Dean Kelly on Who Really Controls The World
Listen now
Description
Dean Kelly is a seasoned multipreneur and investor who has successfully built, grown and exited several businesses, selling his first education company almost two decades ago at 30 years old for an eight-figure sum, to then also become the youngest CEO on the U.K. stock market.  Today Dean is still an active hands-on entrepreneur with a portfolio that owns several recruitment agencies, a SaaS platform, a business consultancy, the world's largest network of recruitment CEOs that have a combined turnover of $3.5bn and a property portfolio spanning from Europe to the UAE.  On a Mission welcomes Dean back for a second time to talk about his career journey, his informed thoughts on education and the schooling system as well as revealing his first-hand experience of the corruption within the current political system leading him to cut all ties with number 10.  Having worked alongside the infamous former health secretary Matt Hancock, Dean gives his opinion on the pandemic, the likes of Rishi Sunak and Trump and talks about who really controls the world! KEY TAKEAWAYS Dean’s involvement with many Tory members meant he saw from the inside how much the public was lied to during the pandemic and the corruption on the inside. This in part is the reason he is longer a member. There is a staggering amount of evidence of the corruption in our political system in the UK, particularly around the NHS and covid, you just have to start looking. In the West, university and the school system are given a lot of credit but it’s not an indicator of true intelligence.  The education system is not fit for purpose, it doesn’t teach people the skills needed for life. When Dean first began leading people and taking over businesses, he still suffered from a form of imposter syndrome. It took some time for him to no longer feel like he was ‘blagging it’. Taking a step back sometimes and making things simple can enable you to see a situation for what it really is and give you clarity. Dean’s diverse experience in business means that he has a breadth of knowledge and always gets asked a lot of questions, his passion can sometimes take over and he has to remind himself to reign conversations and his opinions in. Working in recruitment, Dean is always seeing the changes in the economy quickly, when people are hiring and in which sectors is very telling. Dean believes you need people like Trump, to break the narrative and have people in power who can’t be controlled, whether you agree with their politics or not. To be part of the front bench in parliament, Dean believes you have to be ‘corruptible’ or you wouldn’t be allowed to get there. Politics needs to start appealing to different people from different backgrounds, this is the only way it will become balanced and truly be for the people. BEST MOMENTS 'The Tory party parties can get a little bit mad’ ‘You soon realise, that you’re just being lied to’ ‘They’re not the conservative party, they’re liberal elites’ ‘The biggest con perpetrated on the West is universities’ ‘Don’t confuse a good education for intelligence’ ‘I think they are trying to push a recession on us at the moment’ VALUABLE RESOURCES On A Mission - https://omny.fm/shows/on-a-mission   Athletic Greens - http://athleticgreens.com/onamission Dean Kelly LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/deankellyuk ABOUT THE HOST Not so long ago, life was barely recognisable for Ellie McKay, raising three children under five, battling post-natal depression, facing redundancy and walking into the job centre to claim benefits with a double pram, no confidence, and wracked with insecurities. Following this commitment, she got to work and has now built multiple successful companies, as well as having created a multimillion-pound property portfolio from a standing s
