Such a wonderful podcast. Krista is an amazing interviewer and a great listener. Each guest presents a novel way of harnessing our consciousness to appreciate the vastness and complexity of the universe. Each interview is but a piece of fractured consciousness that informs the consciousness of...Read full review »

I can’t say enough about how much I love this program and share widely. Krista Tippett does a fabulous job interviewing a wide variety of people and can’t imagine the volume of work it takes to prepare for an interview. Her thoughtful questions and ability to connect with each of her interviewers...Read full review »

EDIT: I unsubscribed from this show almost two years ago and I don't miss it a bit. When a podcast censors anyting but glowing reviews, that's bordering on narcissism. Go listen to Inspired. Much better format and the topics are more varied than feel-good drivel. I have listened to...Read full review »

I find the guests and premise of the show thoughtful, but the interviewing disappointing. Krista has an incredibly alluring voice that, for a while, distracted me from the quality of her questions. I wish Krista engaged with her guests. Instead, it feels like she's trying HARD to control...Read full review »

I always learn something new and feel something new when I listen to this podcast. Or the poems on their poetry project. Even more a balm now.

Found this via Brain Pickings. Only have listened to a few episodes but loving it. So much nuanced conversation & ideas. Thank you - really enjoying it. Nourishment for the soul.

Ive loved and supported this podcast for ages. But one thing thats always bugged me is Krista’s inability to not interrupt people when they are in the middle of an incredible part of their story. Shes a great interviewer, but at times it seems like 1) what she has to say is more important than...Read full review »

Jane was a great guest with so much to offer us. Unfortunately Krista’s mind was distracted and focused on something else. Terribly rude to Jane to not be fully engaged with the conversation. If it weren’t for Jane this would’ve been a one star review.

Krista Tippett’s philosophical and humanistic investigation of contemporary issues is essential to living and healing in harmony with nature, each other, and the calling to be of purpose to something greater than oneself. The On Being podcast is essential to my creative life as a contemporary poet.

John Lewis is a man that has led us all to a much better place, a place of equality among the people, the truth overrules in our justice and only the truth. This man was in my entire life but do to my ignorance I did not realize all that he has done for me and the rest of us.

Brutally and beautifully honest; this is exactly what I have been wanting to hear. As a white woman I am thankful and at the same time ashamed for the past and presenr but hopeful when I listen to these extraordinary conversations.

Using the words of a previous reviewer, this podcast holds a tender space for authentic encounters with each other and ourselves. It’s not always easy, but it’s necessary for growth and for the healing of our deep wounds.

On Being hosts the essential conversations of this moment. Thank you for risking difficult questions, celebrating diversity, holding tender space, and for the gorgeous production and fabric of music and poetry. You are creating masterpieces that help us reimagine our world toward justice.

Every week when I turn on my radio in the morning with my cup of coffee I know I’m going to learn and be thoughtfully moved by the conversations Krista has with her guests. It’s like I can feel the new wrinkles being made in my brain! It’s incredibly profound work

Krista is a beacon of light in a sometimes darker space. Her wisdom, inspirational guest, and awesome interviews always seem to know exactly what I need to hear in that moment. Thank you Krista and the On Being team.

I have been a long time listener but this went too far for me! Just the intro was enough to tell me that this person being interviewed was not at all worth listening to. Are you nuts?! Her voice made me ill.
toshij via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/15/20
Most people are very complementary in this space, but a few people use it to launch broadsides. If you are looking for perfection you’re in the wrong place. If you’re looking for conversation and growth you will probably find what you’re looking for.

I’ve been listening to Krista for many years now; this show has become like a guiding light through many difficult times. Krista is one of the most thoughtful and prepared interviewers that I’m aware of, and her voice and laugh are always a source of comfort.

I listened to the episode with Thich Nhat Hanh. The host Krista felt the need to say the listeners might have a hard time understanding him because he has a “vietnamese- french accent” and implies she couldn’t understand him. Meanwhile, he’s done many interviews and hundreds of talks to people...Read full review »

I found On Being a little over a year ago and fell in love. I cannot agree more to the review written by Kg8957. I like the guests and subjects of this podcast very much but It is very challenging for me to listen when host constantly interrupts the guests and she herself quotes them instead of letting them say their own words themselves.

A wonderful podcast with deeply insightful guests. My only request is that the host, Krista Tippet please not interrupt her guests so much! I often prefer to hear what they are saying although I understand it is a conversation.

I really enjoyed this episode however I could not stop feeling that the interviewer kept interrupting him at crucial moments with her own interpretations or conclusions on his answers, rather annoying and anticlimactic.
