“I love the balance Jane strikes between being a fun listen and giving very sane and sensible advice and information about houseplants. She clearly loves plants, knows a lot about them and also knows that we care about other things as well, like the environment, our bank accounts, the people we know and love, so she provides a way into plants that’s not monomaniacal, that fits into an ordinary life. Sometimes she gives advice on how to care for specific plants, or how to perform specific planty tasks. Sometimes she interviews interesting plant people or focuses on an issue like the destructive poaching of wild plants. It all adds up to a varied and interesting podcast that doesn’t suggest we should all be obedient consumers, but rather active participants in the plant world. I honestly think there’s something here for everyone!”
