Once Upon a Crescent is a collection of Islamic bedtime stories for children. Written and produced by a Muslim elementary school teacher, these stories aim to impart Islamic morals to kids through light-hearted storytelling. Not only are stories a great way to settle into a bedtime routine, but they also provide rich opportunities for meaningful dialogue between parent and child. Snuggle up with your little one and feel free to use this podcast as a starting point to talk about Islamic values. My goal is to facilitate some important moral conversations by introducing Islamic values with storytelling.

Episode 1- The Masjid Problem
Ismael & Maryam discover a very unsettling problem at the Masjid. This problem will soon be announced to the community, but for now only the kids know this secretive insider information. It is up to these twins to become the problem solvers the community needs!

Episode 2- Coming Up With A Plan
Ismael talks out his frustration and anger about this Masjid problem with his family. Baba offers a helpful suggestion to help Ismael handle these upsetting feelings. Ismael decides to write a letter to the Masjid Director !

Episode 3- Delivering The Envelope
Ismael & Maryam set out to deliver a very important envelope containing a letter and special message about the Masjid problem. They reach the Masjid Director's office to deliver the envelope but realize this is a scary task to face alone, so they seek help from a trusted adult from the community :).

Episode 4- Brainstorming Solutions
The kids join Coach Luqman in a brainstorming session about how to solve the masjid problem. Coach Luqman joins in on the process to solve this problem and offers his own ideas.

Episode 5- The Conference Room
The masjid director finds the kids in a private conference room where they aren't supposed to be. The kids look to Coach Luqman to get them out of trouble with the masjid director.

Episode 6 - The Fundraising Event
Maryam & Ismael have poured their efforts into their solution to the big Masjid problem. They are pleasantly surprised with how things turn out. This episode and resolution reveals to the kids an important concept in Islam- having tawwakul in Allah and trusting Him.
