“I'm a fan of podcasts. I'm a fan of anime. I'm a fan of podcasts about anime. Listen, I am greatful that this podcast exists, but it's not without it's gripes.
1. Time - the quick 20-30 min episodes keeps it fresh because there isn't too much to talk about per episode.
2. All three hosts have something that makes them unique and likeable.
3. I feel that there is a crowd on this podcast. Like I said before, there isn't too much to talk about per episode, the amount of "hot takes" available are extremely limited. This leads to a lot of "yep" and "yea" agreements. The amount of times I just hear "yeah" throughout a podcast is just sloppy. IMO it would work better with two hosts. Even if it was a rotation between the three of them.
4. The hosts seem green in the gills. I am not sure of their experience together but they should come up with a more organized system to deliver this content. They seem to go off the tracks and step over each other while they are making their points. Stop talking over each other! And come up with a structure.
5. I don't mind spoilers cuz I have seen everything, but I look at Bald Move as the gold standard for how to handle this. Even though the hosts have seen everything, not all the listeners have. They casually spoil things often. You need to take it episode by episode and only refer to what's happening up until that point and stop talking about seasons ahead. Why not do a spoiler free and spoiler section if you REALLY want to talk about that stuff.
Overall I enjoy the podcast. I just see the potential to be much better.
