Insightful if uneven - confused format
Tooze is great as ever but the format could be improved. At its best the podcast allows Tooze do perform his now customary wizardry in illuminating and connecting wold historical trends and processes. At times however it can verge on the awkward as the host, very much an every day man foil (though a competent one at that), prods Tooze by asking him questions in the vein of ‘can we quantify love in dollar numbers?’ or ‘what are the economics of Habermas?’, allowing Tooze to respond in 15 minutes before abruptly transitioning to ‘the finance behind hot-dogs/beer cans/state fairs’. The format would therefore benefit from some tinkering, by broadening the scope/range or better segmenting.

More reviews of Ones and Tooze
Tooze is rather excellent. At the same time, the other nice gentleman sounds a bit too much like the world revolves around the US...which is a bit surprising for a Foreign Policy podcast. Still, thumbs up for the show.

My favorite historian/contemporary intelectual now has a podcast, besides all he writes. It begs the question: does he find time to sleep?
