I found this podcast helpful in broadening my understanding of our newly emergent diversity as a nation, in particular new groups and cultures who are making their presence and influence felt more and more, in our national lives. I recommend a listen and especially if you are looking to better...Read full review »

The complexity of identity and race fascinates me. I am on a lifelong journey to discover the power of listening and acting with compassion. ‘Otherness’ is among the best and most focused podcasts that educates me and expands my circle of compassion....and I love supporting the creative work of...Read full review »

When describing the MAX attack, you said two men cane to the girls defense, but there were three. Two of them died, yes, but the third survived, and he deserves recognition for his act of heroism.

As a woman of color, and a qualitative researcher, I excitedly anticipated each episode of Otherhood. The storytelling is superb and the issues resonate with me and so many people like me, in a way that so many podcasts don’t. I’m heartbroken to learn that their will be fewer episodes in the future.

Overcoming implicit racism and its relationship to inequality is key to progress toward social justice in our fractured society. “Otherhood” is making a valuable contribution to the struggle. Plus, it is compelling listening.

I love Otherhood and can’t wait for the piece on Cambridge Rindge and Latin - right in my own backyard!

Because I'm white, male and comfortable, I do not readily understand why people who are not like me are unhappy, dissatisfied, angry... why they want things to change radically. This podcast gets to that, and explains what people like me should have known all along; but at least now with Rupa...Read full review »

This podcast voices my experiences of feeling like an outsider. It also expresses the concerns rising in this current political climate for those of us who feel 'othered' in myriad ways. Rupa's tone is tranquil, warm, and sincere while her journalism is poignant and authentic.Read full review »

As other reviewers note, this is both wonderful and needed. Rupa is a fantastic talent, she is clear, doesn't get in the way of the guests and tells a story with direction and intelligence. I just wished I had found it earlier. I look forward to hearing more stories. Thank you.Read full review »

Those collected recordings and photographs are an acknowledged treasure that tells us who we are. This podcast beautifully dovetails with...Read full review »
