The second season was good, but....
The story was pretty unreal, and while Joe was a showman and needed to be arrested, Carol Baskin is also SUUUPER full of herself. While Joe was a sociopath, Carol was a narcissist. She thought herself a hero in the narrative and I didn’t see her as such. Why would she fly to the trial and want to stay? That is more about her being seen by journalists and possibly being on camera than anything else, as evidenced by her diatribes on the stand, not listening to the judge, etc. Joe deserves to be incarcerated for trying to hire a hitman but Carol doesn’t seem like she’s morally superior. I liked the season a lot but I wish that there would’ve been more focus on the character of Carol Baskin. They really only touched on her narcissism in the last episode. I thought it was unfair that they portrayed her as some kind of heroic protagonist when she, too, is running a business founded on animals in captivity.

Wondery is not some guy recording in his closet with a full time job, there’s no excuse for not...Read full review »
