Description
Today we have Hind Hobeika; Founder of one of the coolest pieces of swim technology that I’ve ever used which is known as the InstaBeat.
So as most of you know, swimming was actually one of my weakest of the three disciplines in Triathlon! In fact, I actually signed up for my very first triathlon before ever actually even knowing how to swim the front crawl! I had learned the basics as a kid in order to leisurely swim and stay afloat, but I never took the typical avenue of taking lessons as a kid or swimming in school, so I can definitely say I’ve spent a ton of time in the pool trying to improve my quality of training over the years.
Throughout my training, I always liked to pay close attention to HR Zones because coming from a former medical background I was just intrigued by how the body reacts and compensates and what your HR can be telling you. This has always been super easy to do on the bike and run because of the watches, the HR straps, and the ability to analyze the data on phone apps after the sessions. I really found in swimming this key component was missing until a good friend of mine told me about Instabeat and I decided to incorporate it into my swim training.
I’ll save the details of what the Instabeat is for Hind to explain in the Podcast, but I thought it would be amazing to have her on the show for an episode to talk about the InstaBeat and how you might be able to incorporate it into your training, as well as dedicate this episode to key swimming tips for age group triathletes.
We’ll cover training tips like how to start implementing the HR Training Zones in your swim sessions, how you can structure your training sessions, what you should and shouldn’t focus on as a beginner swimmer, and we’ll go over some great drills and swim tips that you’ll definitely want to hear all about!
Now, enough from me lets hear it from the founder of InstaBeat!
