Joy and I just wanted to give you a heads-up: we weren't super good at this when we started out! We like to think we got better with time, we definitely got better gear and figured out the episode flow, anyway! If you struggle a bit with our early seasons, we totally understand. That's why we recommend if you are a new listener, maybe skip ahead to season 3 and get to know us when we hit our stride a little better. We had such a great experience making this podcast and would love for you to be able to enjoy it too!

    "Two Funerals"

We're back to finish this thing! In today's episode, we talk about penultimate episodes, underground dance competitions, and much more! This was also the first of two live recordings with a very rowdy crew of our Patrons as we celebrate Parks and Rewatch coming to an end. Thanks for the laughs everyone, we'll see you in the final next week!

    Big update!

    Big update!

    Hello, friends!
It has been a minute for sure! I think in our own ways, Joe and I have both been avoiding finishing this series out. It has been such an amazing journey since we launched on March 6 of 2020.
Y’all have been with us in the ups and in the downs and honestly, we couldn’t have made it without you. Every gift of your comments, feedback, and support held us and kept us going!
And now that the end is on the horizon, I’m dragging my feet toward the finish line. I’m not ready for it to end, yet I am ready to see what’s ahead! Complicated feelings, I know.
So. I’m here to announce the dates for our Final 2 recordings, which we’d love to have you join in on via zoom!
Tuesday May 30, 6-8p Central Time, S7E11 Two Funerals
Tuesday June 6, 6-8p Central time, S7E12 One Last Ride
Would you join us and help us finish strong? We’d love to create space to capture your memories of the podcast, talk about our highlights and quotables, and just enjoy each other’s presence for these last two recordings!

Thank you so much for making this wonderful podcast

I’ve really been enjoying listening to a podcast while I’m painting.🎨

Good but maybe not for me..

I want to love this one because it’s well-researched and the hosts love the show, and it’s also one of the only ones that wasn’t dropped halfway through. That said, one of the hosts has so many jokes go over their head and complains about so many of the show mechanisms that are there *on purpose* for humor, doesn’t understand most of the cultural references, and it can be a bit exhausting. Like hearing my 10 year old explain the show to me. Then there are the segments where they sing badly on purpose — maybe funny the first time, but I fast forward through all that now. The karate moves to success are typically where I stop the podcast and move to the next. Too many religious references which have no relevance to the show. I really do want to like this one but I find myself fast forwarding through portions of every episode. It does have its redeeming qualities! Some of the deep dives are really interesting, and Joe has really given me a new perspective on Mark. I like the ratings sessions at the end. Well organized and clear work and effort put in which make it a good listen at times. All in all? I don’t think it’s a bad podcast, I just go back and forth on whether it’s for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️
