“Acting was good, and I loved who they chose for the main character, but a few weeks after listening I can’t remember enough about the plot to comment much on the story. S1 felt like a big tease, then S2 was a whole different thing, and the two seasons didn’t mesh up well at all. Then there was a rushed ending. Maybe that was deliberate? To mimic what happens with a TV show that has to wrap up mid-season when it gets cancelled? Like a big comment on trying to write for TV? So besides that, this show is full of unpleasant sounds. Muffled audio with lots of static, rumbling, and bumping of the mic is a great way for underfunded, remotely-recorded audio dramas to hide unmatched recordings. But I expect something a bit easier on the ears from a big budget show like this. It was something I was looking forward to. That, and I was hoping for a show with the confidence to not explain why there were audio recordings at all. So those two things were disappointing. Then (and this is something that doesn’t typically bother me) there were lots of really loud mouth noises through S2. I’ve never heard anything like it. Why? Why would anyone decide to deliberately make the sound like this?”
