Outstanding general pediatrics resource for residents and attendings!

Started listening to this podcast several years ago during residency and have continued even since becoming a primary care attending! Although it’s titled “Emergency Playbook,” I’ve consistently found it to contain primary care-relevant information in addition to inpatient/ER pearls. Tim does an outstanding job of covering fundamentals as well as more nuanced topics - what I especially appreciate is his willingness to cite the literature along the way. As a resident, I found that this was one of the podcasts that regularly and reliably filled in the gaps of my residency’s program’s curriculum, or things that we were just expected to know without ever being taught. A pleasant bonus of the podcasts’ content is the continual emphasis on humanistic care and tangible strategies for how to provide it. Wish I had found this in med school itself, but either way, can’t wait for all the amazing content to come!

mńm :))

i’m just a silly little high school student who wants to go into ems in the future. while some of this content isn’t necessarily applicable in ems (long term treatments n stuff) the tips for caring for children in the emergency medical field is very helpful. i like the scenarios that pose options to the listener, it is a good way to learn the content. also coach’s (i always forget his name 🥲🥲) voice is so soothing that i use this podcast to fall asleep at night. overall this podcast is a 11/10 and i enjoy it very much :))
