309 – “The Blessed Dark”
A.Ron and Cecily are sharply divided on their opinions for the series shotgun finale, episode 309, “The Blessed Dark”. A.Ron would have preferred a more open ended finale that didn’t try to make half-assed an attempt to bring the series to an epic and apocalyptic conclusion, while Cecily appreciates the creative jam the team was apparently other and is thankful that they made the best of the situation they had at hand. Regardless of our personal feelings, this is the end for Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, and we the television watching public are the poorer for it. What did you think? We’ll be back next week to mourn our loss and ponder that what ifs with you and all our fellow fans as we wrap up our coverage of the series. See you then.

A,Ron and Cecily process their shock at learning that Showtime’s Penny Dreadful is being cancelled, and wonder how in the world things are going to be wrapped up, or even if they’ll be wrapped up, in just one more episode. A.Ron and Cecily review their thoughts on the surprise penultimate (more on this later!) episode of Penny Dreadful, “Ebb Tide”. They RISE UP! against whore parties. They RISE! UP! against Billy Joel. Then they present their necks to Bruce Springsteen, before taking a jaunty horse drawn carriage on the way to being chloroformed and made into proper podcasters. All recoil in horror.

Ethan is done with forgiveness, Rusk is done with genteel notions of rules of engagement and law enforcement in general, and Ethan’s father is done with his son’s stubborn refusal to atone for the sins of his bloody past. Also, Kaetenay is sick of these mother @#$*ing snakes on his mother @#$*ing plains!

This podcast actually gives thorough reviews on the show. They tend to clear up some of my questions, confirm questions that really are unanswered, and reiterate what I already know. Do you like a little hilarious with your insghtfulness?
What a great podcast. Cecily and Aron literally had me bent over laughing (Cecily mistaken for a prostitue? Aron does an awesome dark Donald Duck). I love the chemistry they have and all the hidden jewels and connecctions that I miss while watching the episodes, Plus, they rremind me of the connections that I keep forgetting. Penny Dreadful an awesome show that so many people are missing out on. Thank you guys for taking the time to cover it for those of us that are huge fans!
