“Over the last few months, these folks have been my transition from "liking the Alien movies" to "being an Alien fan". The rotating cast of hosts makes each episode feel like I'm seeing a slightly different perspective each time; the fact that they're all awesome people doesn't hurt ;)
In particular, I really appreciate their commitment to intellectually honest discourse around the newer movies. Some of the hosts like them, some don't. While there are genuine disagreements at times, all the conversations I've seen have been in good faith, with rational people, capable of nuance and of changing their minds.
The show is now getting to the point where the choice of starting with the earliest shows, or the most recent material, migh actually make a difference; I started with the recent shows and have gone roughly backwards from there. Others have said the audio quality isn't great or the hosts get a bit rambly. I think they might have been listening to earlier episodes: at least since 2017 the production value has been top tier.”Read full review »
