“I don’t understand why people don’t like long podcasts, your listening to a podcast. It’s not YouTube. I’m writing this review out of sheer spite because when I heard you guys talk about the negative reviews it just mad me so irritated. The people who gave bad reviews weren’t necessarily critiquing you, but we’re definitely just hating on the show. It’s like they blamed the hosts of the show for something they had no control of. I thought the way the Shy Baldwin situation ended was very realistic. Everyone thinks that could have ended better, but honestly that whole situation with shy was never gonna end well. Midge was also told by Shy’s manager to talk about Shy. It’s almost like she was set up. Midge was just making fun of shy being a pretty boy, and high maintenance. In 1960, most people wouldn’t have thought anything about Shy’s sexuality. Fabian, Elvis and Tab Hunter were pretty boys too. No one knew Tab was gay. Then you look at people like Liberace, and people just didn’t think anything of it. I feel like Midge gets all the blame, because people don’t like how the situation ended. I’m noticing most people are criticizing the show for not being 60s enough, but they don’t realize that it’s only 1961. Of course only being 2 years into a decade, most of the stuff you see is gonna be from the previous decade. The sixties most people are familiar with doesn’t really start until like 1963. Im a guy who’s 22, but love the culture of back then. The show is very accurate to the period. I love how they mix the fictional characters in with real historical and pop culture ones. It’s like Easter egg candy. I’m wondering if Midge is gonna have some sort of falling out with Gordon Ford like Johnny Carson did with Joan Rivers. Love the podcast, hopefully this one brings your ratings up!”
