Finally a nice long podcast for the show!
I don’t understand why people don’t like long podcasts, your listening to a podcast. It’s not YouTube. I’m writing this review out of sheer spite because when I heard you guys talk about the negative reviews it just mad me so irritated. The people who gave bad reviews weren’t necessarily critiquing you, but we’re definitely just hating on the show. It’s like they blamed the hosts of the show for something they had no control of. I thought the way the Shy Baldwin situation ended was very realistic. Everyone thinks that could have ended better, but honestly that whole situation with shy was never gonna end well. Midge was also told by Shy’s manager to talk about Shy. It’s almost like she was set up. Midge was just making fun of shy being a pretty boy, and high maintenance. In 1960, most people wouldn’t have thought anything about Shy’s sexuality. Fabian, Elvis and Tab Hunter were pretty boys too. No one knew Tab was gay. Then you look at people like Liberace, and people just didn’t think anything of it. I feel like Midge gets all the blame, because people don’t like how the situation ended. I’m noticing most people are criticizing the show for not being 60s enough, but they don’t realize that it’s only 1961. Of course only being 2 years into a decade, most of the stuff you see is gonna be from the previous decade. The sixties most people are familiar with doesn’t really start until like 1963. Im a guy who’s 22, but love the culture of back then. The show is very accurate to the period. I love how they mix the fictional characters in with real historical and pop culture ones. It’s like Easter egg candy. I’m wondering if Midge is gonna have some sort of falling out with Gordon Ford like Johnny Carson did with Joan Rivers. Love the podcast, hopefully this one brings your ratings up!

When I first came across this pod and saw it’s length I was like: “Wait? WHO in the hall could talk about — and who possibly could LISTEN to a pod episode that lasts three times the length of the actual tv episode??” Well, put me on that list. This podcast delves deep into all the beautifully...Read full review »

I really enjoy listening to each host bring their own expertise to the discussion, but because each episode was recorded as each new episode of the show was released weekly, they spent a lot of time making predictions and discussing hot takes that were almost immediately disproven, which is not...Read full review »

This podcast is fantastic! My 19 year-old son turned me onto it a week or two ago and I am HOOKED! I love the freedom they have to discuss all of the details and then the tangents that they go into are so much fun as well. This is a rare treat of a podcast where I feel like I’m having a girl...Read full review »
