Protecting children
The story of Erika Parson broke my heart. As a society we lack a system that truly protects children. If families of children are receiving some government help, then those children should belong to the state, the state can go to the schools and interview them away from the monsters. They should NOT have a choice to homeschool, if they live in rural areas then a school teacher should be assigned to go to the child’s home. Some form of government should have an eye on children. If CPS is ever called on a home, the protocol should be that those children go to the doctor and CPS has to confirm with the doctor the results of the visit. It’s sad to see that the system continues to see kids with similar cases neglected, abused and killed and we still don’t have a better system?. Ridiculous.
