Pandora is a wonderful, empathic presenter. She tells this disturbing and depressing tale so well. Would add, the more we become aware of how female artists are exploited, shamed (for no reason), the more I’m devastated by how toxic and misogynistic our culture is. It has to change. For all...Read full review »

This helps us understand more about Britney s past and not just a sexy, unstable woman that the press want us to think of her 10/10

Really enjoyed this pod, well researched and evenly presented. Didn’t love the dramatic interpretations, so well researched it didn’t seem necessary.

Loved this

This is a well made podcast. One that describe the road to the conservatorship so well. When it comes to the Britney Spears’s story, so much will be missing, because you’d have to live through it all to actually understand it. There was a big new story about her nearly everyday.

Fantastic podcast - Pandora Sykes is clear, kind and intelligent- giving various opinions without imposing her view. The story is well put together and engaging with an interesting series of interviews. I’m on the final episode now and wishing there was more. Love the dramatised bits - they...Read full review »

The dramatised reading from Lynn’s book, which we can’t take as factual, skew this otherwise good podcast. Cringey and unnecessary. Not sure why lynns book is being portrayed as anything other than self serving fiction.

Pandora takes us through Britney’s story empathetically and with a reminder of all the great songs Britney has released. Absolutely devoured this podcast in a few days. The hours of hard work pandora has put in are shown in the amount of detail revealed throughout. So so good!

The narrative of Britney’s life to date would make a decent dramatic podcast regardless, but Pandora Sykes adds a grown-up, sober and journalistic backbone to it. A polished, well-researched, compassionate feminist viewpoint is what Britney’s story needed, vitally placed amongst the changing...Read full review »

Love Pandora’s sympathetic and kind presentation of Britney’s situation. It’s very well researched and the 00’s song choices are 10/10!

The podcast is great and Pandora does a brilliant job telling this really sad story. Unfortunately the drama is very distracting and the accents are annoying. This really could have been a brilliant podcast but was let down by the cringey drama.

Absolutley loved this podcast. I didnt know the half of the story and it was so revealing and insightful. Some really gripping moments too and wonderfully narrated. Def reccomend to listen!

Couldn’t recommend this podcast more. I have been in a podcast rut unable to engage in one for ages, but this has taken me right out of my rut and it’s just truly amazing. The work that goes into a podcast like this must be applauded and Pandora presents it so well.

I hadn't expected this series to be as gripping as it is, for the sole reason that Britney's story is already so familar (or so you think). But I raced through all 8 episodes in just a few days, and felt alternately appalled and gobsmacked by what I heard. A must-listen!Read full review »

A captivating, unbiased documentary that tells Brittney’s story from all angles. In most cases, there are 3 sides to every story, in this one, it seems there are hundreds. Pandora, you are a brilliant storyteller- you have a gift.

I didn’t know much about Britney, not being a fan, but in the wake of the recent court appearance, this is gripping and seems to be a very well researched series. Shame they felt the need to have the dramatised scenes as the acting is pretty hammy and distracting. And as, necessarily, they aren’t...Read full review »

A brilliant exploration into Britney’s life and those closest to her. Pandora’s research and narrative gives an interesting insight into Britney’s rise and latter conservatorship. Loved every episode. Highly recommend

Really enjoyed this. Well researched and presented but really struggled with some of the dramatized parts, wasn’t convinced they added much value.

I read the magazine headlines through the 2000’s but never did I ever stop to consider what might really be going on behind the scenes... Such a well researched, written and presented podcast. Set aside 9 hours and BINGE!

The research done for this is off the scale - incredibly hard work from Pandora and it shows. I found it quite difficult to listen to some of the details, it’s really shocking to have the timeline laid out so clearly, with each disastrous incident unfold. Worse still knowing Britney is still not...Read full review »

A very interesting podcast and the information showing the lead up to the conservatorship is great. The re-enactments are dreadful and makes Britney sound stupid which I don’t think is the direction the podcast is trying to take. The podcast would be 5 stars without the re-enactments.
whayeviifj via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 07/27/21
Ooof those fictitious re-enactments of literal children are creepy as hell. This feels exploitative, another contributor to the problem it claims to be trying to investigate.

Very heart-breaking delve into Britney’s life. Her family sound like horrible people. Great binge-able pod, could have done without the reenactments, very cringey.

Wow. What a concerted sustained attack. Britney is very strong to withstand the pressure. My children loved her and when things went badly for her I tuned out somewhat, but this put her experience in perspective. Her children being removed was terribly harsh and unnecessary. Pandora Sykes has done it again! This is such a thorough and thoughtful podcast. I binged it all in a couple of days. Perfect way to get though another lockdown in Sydney Australia.

In episode 2 Pandora narrates that kris Jenner said ‘as her manager I was thrilled’ - this is not true. It’s nowhere on the internet where she said this, I find it strange that a podcast would have this false information just to add dramatic effects. She actually said: "When I first heard...Read full review »

Loved this podcast. I grew up during Britney’s era so found it amazingly interesting to listen to. I remember the hype of it all and the magazine era of tearing women down for fun (not that it’s over). A really tastefully made, thoughtful account of a woman who’s story is far from over. Recommended!

The culmination of archives, memoir “flashbacks”, interviews and narration is so carefully woven together. Such a compelling listen. I have literally zero complaints or constructive feedback on this podcast, which tbh is atypical for me 😂🤷🏻‍♀️😎🤓.

The dramatizations are a nice touch but omg I can’t handle the accents! I’m from Georgia so yes I’m gonna be picky because Jamie sounds like somebody’s black grandpa and a grumpy drunk Kevin spacey put together which is just a really strange combination. This is superb. Comprehensive but not well trodden. Insightful not judgemental. At its best when dealing with issues surrounding how society treats young, female stars. Sykes is terrific. Thoroughly recommend!

A disappointing podcast- zero new information or interviews, and audio used is from other podcasts and documentaries. Pandora Sykes is excellent but this is a poor effort for the BBC.

I really like this podcast in terms of the journalism that went into it and the discussion from experts.
