As a urbanism fan that doesn't work in the industry, this is brain candy. Extremely accessible- in fact, one of my only wishes is that they would tackle subjects with a little more depth. Good stuff nonetheless.

It's refreshing to hear a planning podcast that isn't hosted by some annoying mansplaining guy that's barely worth listening to. On this topic, Placemakers is generally interesting, well structured and fun to listen to. However, this doesn't apply to the paid podcasts which are over produced PR...Read full review »

I really appreciate the story telling and the variety of people and places. Creating thriving, vibrant neighborhoods and communities is hard work, requires policy change, and the vision to move beyond the status quo. Placemakers is really helpful for many of us in this field. Keep it up!

This is a really great podcast. Hosted by public radio legend Rebecca Sheir (Metro Connection forever!), this show tells great stories about people who have helped better their communities, sometimes in very unique and unorthodox ways. The stories and people are inspiring and in some cases give...Read full review »

I kinda stumbled on Placemakers by accident. Happy, happy accident. I've now listened to three episodes and I am definitely hooked. Fascinating stories about places and the lives lived in them. This Podcast has a lot of potential. A lot of podcasts about cities tend to focus on trends and business. I'm happy to see one taking a more personal approach. Cheers!

An introduction to Jane Jacobs and her critics that is nuanced yet easy to follow, succint yet richly human, up-to-date and intensely relevant yet timeless - all that and downright entertaining as well.
