“Love you all! (Here comes the but…hahaha) You might be missing a chance to address this topic more fully….in many cases schools are closing on Fridays because there is a huge national shortage of substitute teachers. The shortage was bad before COVID, but now it’s crazy! The school district I work in used to have 500 subs. (Pre-COVID) now we only have 200. Notoriously Fridays and Mondays were days that had the most teachers out. Every day at my school there requests for teachers to cover other teacher’s classes because there aren’t enough subs in the building, nearly every day.”
