“I've been listening to your podcast since October and it's refreshing to have a TV podcast led by the ladies. The sexual humor played off some of the tense moments in the Walking Dead and AHS: Coven was both tasteful and right on the money.
One minor quibble: You have to let that go on the Haiti VooDoo ritual. First, the way the fertility ritual was sold by Marie Laveau (played by the great Angela Bassett) was bought by a naive outsider Cordelia Foxx (Sarah Paulson) like a tourist will flop down $300 for some wooden, rain maker drum. The vision of the ritual was from the imagination of Cordelia's mind. Second, FX's behind the scenes of Coven had a spot where Ryan Murphy reached out to the Haitian community, hired a Haitian historical consultant, and supported the Haitian historical consultant to hire members of the community who are familiar with traditional rituals of voodoo. Those are not Hollywood extras around Bassett. I think Murphy was just trying to respect culture and not cast a stereotype about Haitian culture. So while I think you're absolutely right with the stereotypes surrounding Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) flipping burgers in Detroit, stuffing her mouth with food in the kitchen, I respectfully disagree with in the case of Laveau's pitch.
Thanks again for all the great hours of entertainment in reviews!

“As an opinionated know-it-all myself, I love this podcast. I love that every time I listen, there is someone there representing my point of view because of the variety of perspectives. And I love that everyone gets passionate enough to argue about it, because on some podcasts when the two hosts...”Read full review »
