Lectures could have benefited from dynamic approaches—meta-analytical perspectives, etc.
Would have liked to have had a podcast by Dr. Betts as well since he is an expert in a field and a fellow Oxford researcher. Still, this podcast was relatively brief in terms of methodology and current issues. Oxford’s research on terrorism is also quite comprehensive, and I think it would have been more impactful if mid-course lectures were offered instead of first day briefing of what the class will cover. Yet, this podcast is okay. Could have been better with the mention of various meta-analytical methods of studying the issues, perspectives on research structures and different forecasting opinions by experts on where these issues are expected to go. All of the facts/stats/issues they were addressing are common knowledge to most individuals in IR. However, the inclusion of expert opinions and various forms of forecasting issues could have made this podcast better. All in all, this was good but it could have been better. Rating 7.5/10
