Thought-provoking analysis that provides insights I don’t here elsewhere. Making a Patreon contribution to unlock full content is well worth it.

This is a wonderful podcast. The host is knowledgeable and critical, and the guests are also great. It is a jewel. I wonder if you would consider inviting both Andreas Malm and Adam Tooze together to talk about the history of energy.

Much needed and timely analysis on current events that goes into the history of matters to have a better understanding of the present! Ps release more free episodes, my only irritation is you paywall too many of your content. But otherwise excellent work, Keep it up!

Several of the most recent episodes have covered topics I'm quite familiar with, but presented analysis that was totally surprising and compelling to me. PTO is absolutely on a roll.Read full review »

Simply the best and most intellectually comprehensive Left podcast in circulation today. And it’s not particularly close. I live by it

Fantastic discussions of pressing issues. Historically and conceptually informed expert analysis.

I understand there are what look like coordinated attempts to deter new listeners: … which only shows just how good this podcast is, and that its values are sound. I wish I’d found PTO long before I did, but working back through the episodes is well worth it. The episode on Settler Colonialism...Read full review »

Highly knowledgeable guests, deep interviews that take their time and interviewers who are well-informed and guide the discussion in a constructive way.

If you want your mainstream media fake news slanted a bit left, this is the place for you. Adhering to all of the core editorial biases and outright mistruths of declining UK/EU/US hegemonic elites, this will conform to all your safe liberal left prejudices.

I’ve been listening to PTO for over five years now - not quite right from the start but not too far off - and in that time I’ve listened to pretty much every episode, including most of the back catalogue as it existed when I first started listening. It is a great podcast, probably my favourite...Read full review »

Nice in-depth analyses of current affairs from a Marxist point of view. Lots of historical context. Much deep thinking about complicated issues. a welcome relief from the pablum usually provided by mainstream media.

Excellent in depth interview. Just the kind of detailed analysis you don’t find in the mainstream media.

Gone from free interviews to 2 minute snippets. Other podcasts throw the povvos who can’t afford a Patreon sub bigger scraps. New branding and intro jingle though - like a proper PMC pseud show

A good show for the most part, but I unsubbed due to the repeated defenses of covid lockdowns, which in 2023 is inexcusable

Strongly recommended for left-wing listeners – a podcast I’ve listened to consistently for years. Alex interviews academics, writers and activists from across a broad range of left positions. This is an amazing podcast, that has just gone from strength to strength. They get some very interesting guests to talk about great subjects, and help to elucidate the ways in which we might emancipate ourselves from the ruling class. Always intelligent, always thought-provoking, always well-researched. Alex Doherty brings out the best from his guests with his gently probing, never self-regarding questions. It’s a podcast that leaves me wanting to explore the ideas it covers further (and they are wide-ranging), which I see as...Read full review »

An unshowy podcast, with a bright but unshowy host, that consistently engages bright-spark commentators engaging with the world and the horrorshow we’ve recently become. Good work. Worth punt on the subscription. Listening out for more to come.

With an international focus and contributors of repute from all over the world, this is a must listen podcast. Firmly and unashamedly of the left, this podcast is essential for any concerned citizen of the world to follow in order to understand the modern context of the world.
