A filmmaker said a movie’s best moments are when the audience’s hands are frozen in place, popcorn forgotten for the story. Always something this exciting in every episode of Popcorn Theology.

I was recommended this podcast by a friend and thoroughly enjoyed listening to every episode. It’s really nice to listen to people talk about movies grounded in a biblical world view! I highly recommend you give Popcorn Theology a listen.

This is a fun podcast but thought provoking as well. The hosts dive into film and television to see how the stories that entertain us relate to God and the Bible. As a mindless consumer this was something I never really thought about that much before but their discussions add new layers to the...Read full review »

This is the best podcast for teaching you how to "engage in the art of our day" with a Godly worldview. You will learn how to Reject, Redeem, and Receive the themes found in movies and TV/Streaming series. A pastor friend of mine recommended this podcast to me a few years ago, and it has been a game changer. I am a huge movie fan, but as a believer, I always felt like maybe I shouldn’t love this medium as much as I do. Popcorn Theology has given me the ability to bridge that gap between faith and...Read full review »

I appreciate how thorough the hosts are in deep-diving for themes and concepts and bringing them to the surface for listeners to apply in their spheres of influence. Subscribe to this stimulating podcast and be transformed into a more equipped Believer who sees God at work in everything.

I love this podcast. I am also from an Acts29 Church in Morgantown WV. I am on staff at Crossroads Church. We had been thinking about doing a podcast similar to this one and then started listening to yours. Great conversations to listen to, especially in thinking through how Christians should co...Read full review »

The team at Popcorn Theology do a great job making movie watching fun with looking at the deeper meaning that can be drawn from some of the greatest movies of our time. Love the work they do and looking forward to a lot more content in the future!

I really enjoy listening to Popcorn Theology, it’s my favorite podcast. The hosts are great at connecting theology and popular and sometimes not so popular movies and television. I listen to them at work, in the car, while doing yard work, and at home. Give them a listen if you like pop culture...Read full review »

I dived into this podcast expecting it to be one that explored the various theologies in films. What it actually is seems to be a podcast that picks films apart to see how their theologies align or misalign with Christianity. Nothing wrong with that per se, but not what I was looking for.

I love Popcorn Theology. These guy really pull back the layers of the entertainment that we all consume. They thoughtfully engage any genre and show how each story relates to the greatest Storyteller of all. Personally I’ve had great joy by following their lead. Love the concept of this podcast! James Harleman is a great host! The other two guys are ok but can be annoying or corny at times. All in all though a lot of fun!

I listen to this a ton at work (mulching)...I was wondering if you guys would ever do a Dear Evan Hansen ep, there’s no movie but with a plot summary and the soundtrack there’s a ton to talk about that I’d love to hear your opinions on. I'm very choosy with podcasts. If I'm not getting salient info from prepared and talented hosts, I dip. Growing up, film was an escape. You don’t often get Biblical perspective and outright quality in the same mix. As sad a commentary as that can make, it is not the case with Popcorn Theology. They’re some fine lads discussing fine movies in a fine manner.

This podcast is wonderful and needed. While many Christians run from opposing world views, hosts Richard and David run head on and engage with it from a Christian perspective. Can’t recommend it enough.

I came here hoping to learn more about various brands and flavors of popcorn and to understand popcorn through a Christian worldview. I came away very disappointed. These guys don’t talk about popcorn. At all. They only talk about movies and the Super Bowl. False advertisement.

What a great podcast. Something the Christian (Reformed community particularly) need. We are too fast to denounce media as bad for us.
