College coaches at all levels are actively engaging with players, conducting visits, and making offers. But the question on many parents' minds right now is: "Is Fall Ball worth it for my son?"  Is there a better way?  First, let's ask, what are you trying to get out of fall ball? Is it exposure? If your aim is exposure, I'd like to share some insights that may change your perspective. Due to the NCAA's quiet period, D1 coaches are limited to watching, evaluating, and recruiting only on their campus at their specific camps and showcases. That means they won't be attending tournaments or other showcases to watch your son. Spending time and money on exposure during the quiet period might not be the best investment. Is it for playing time and reps? If it's playing time and repetition your son needs, Fall Ball can indeed be worth it. However, be mindful of your spending on tournaments around the country. Can your son play locally? That might be a more cost-effective option. My recommendation? Focus on skill development, strength training in the weight room, and maximizing exposure at camps or showcases (during the contact period).
