Made me a horror fan
Never cared much for horror but they lured me in with the mental health angle. Turns out I REALLY enjoy horror when three amazing people dissect the movie before I see it and remind me of self care. The podcast discusses one movie every episode and the talk about the mental health themes they see in it. Mike Snoonian usually gives some background on mental illnesses which is especially interesting when it comes to those that have been misrepresented in pop-culture (looking at you, schizophrenia). He also has the most measured way of saying “sure”, which is always very calming. Jenn Adams and Lara Unnerstall are great hosts and find a good balance between very corny jokes that hit you out of nowhere and smart observations about the movies/life. All three are very open about their own experiences. A fun podcast that guides you through the horrors of scary movies and mental illness.

Like Peanut Butter and Chocolate, discussions relating to mental health and horror movies go great together! The chemistry between the hosts makes it a lively and fun discussion and I’ve discovered new ways to look at old favorites as well as discovering new movies to add to my queue.
