liberal feminism
some episodes especially those with really good and critically minded guests allow room to dive deeper into a critical understanding of cultural, political, social and economic realities. a lot of others are just ending in superficial analysis reminiscent of liberal girlboss culture allowing neoliberal logic to find a gendered lens (yay women can become war mongeres too! hurray! - i am over exaggerating but i am just trying to bring a point across). the narrative mirrors americans pseudo-intellectuals upholding the Western lack of understanding power on a root level. in this sense, being „a woman“ is unfortunately not something that is the most detrimental thing that can happen to you. beyond, the idea of america reproducing high power women who are assimilating patriarchal violence, and suggesting that this is legitimate is at best ignorant and at worse simply uneducated. white women really make it easy for themselves. but again the weakest link in allowing for real change and responsibility in where we are going in this world.
