Slightly disappointing
This podcast claimed it was going to offer insights into the man and his motives and it didn’t quite deliver. Instead, it was more of standard history podcast. Why wasn’t Putin’s gripes about NATO expansionism explored? Why did they gloss over Putin’s essay that was released prior to the Ukrainian invasion? You don’t have to agree with his assertions, however the character study does feel flat without it.

More reviews of Putin
One of the biggest problems of the the West is trying to understand evil people. Frankly, their motivation or thinking isn’t remotely important. The results of their actions is. When the West accepts this, it will deal better with evil.

I like this format. The podcast has spliced Putin's life into a bunch of 3-5 year slices and assembled 3 people who have deep knowledge of that time to discuss each era. You get lots of Russian, international and post-Soviet satellite perspectives.Read full review »
