The 4th book
I opened up iTunes using the swipe feature on my Apple smart iPhone. This cutting edge technology always makes me shake my head in wonder. In days gone by the smartest thing a phone could do was the 1471 feature which allowed you to identify who had called you last. As a professional soccer player this could be a godsend as you could tell if it was a team mate or a loved one calling or if it was a journalist looking for their next big ‘scoop’ or an unhinged crazy woman (is there any other kind) wanting to spend the night with a celebrity trying to get my attention. As the 90’s progressed so did technology and the caller could press "3" to automatically return the call-a real bonus for the man with a busy life. Although previously free, since August 2004 the return call service incurs a charge; this, however, is a small price to pay for the features described. In times gone by the only ratings I cared about were the ratings Paul Hince gave us players out of 10 in the previous days match. A solid but unspectacular 7 was awarded to me more often than not; would they have been higher if I had been a forward. Who knows? Who cares? Not me, that’s for sure. I started typing my review. Footballers aren’t generally known for their intellect but as the proud owner of a good GCSE in English I feel perhaps more qualified than most. However just as i finished the 1st sentence I heard the unmistakable sound of a gun cocking in my ear. I looked in the reflection of my picture of a Jaguar XJ8 that stood on my Habitat walnut desk and saw a face familiar to me. I’ve told you, I’m not writing a 4th book i said, my voice confident despite my trepidation. Then it all went blacker than that of the stripes that proudly adorn the jerseys of the club I manage-Oldcastle CityRead full review »

Quality podcasts! The Paul Merson one is hilarious! The 'Rolls Royce' quote from George Graham..... Definitely would recommend for all football fans! Oh, I nearly forgot George Weah's cousin, Matt LeTissier talks about THAT substitution!Read full review »

The 90's were a great time growing up as a boy and my fondest memory was the football. This podcast taps into everything we loved about the beautiful game back then with humour and a definite love. Looking forward to many more episodes!Read full review »
