“The stories are well told and engaging. I appreciate the diversity of speakers and accents from across all of Latin America.
The values and sentiments that underly many of the stories and the choices of themes are somewhat predictably NPR orthodox social justice concerns. I don’t oppose those views, choices or values, but I do appreciate more diversity of perspective, themes and more original, sometimes even contrarian approaches. In this sense, the journalism here is pretty much standard fare NPR liberalism. Having grown up in the Seattle area, I’m not uncomfortable with that. It’s just not very courageous, intellectually speaking, to always create stories from such a normative standpoint.”
