“Laura is normally such a beacon when it comes to talking about women on the show, I was very disheartened by the position she took while talking about JK Rowling. While it is disgusting that Rowling’s former abuser was given a chance to speak on the issue, it is also vitality important that we don’t ignore the harm she has done repeatedly to trans women. The violence they face is just as real, and dismissing that perpetuates the harm while detracting from her own legitimate point that abusers should not set the narrative. It is my sincere hope that she will do better moving forward.”
