“Bill Maher is one of the funniest guys alive. He is what Will Rogers would have sounded like if WIll Rogers had watched a lot of porn, was an atheist, and had spent most of his youth partying instead of learning how to lasso a rope. Unfortunately, Bill Maher thinks this comedic genius extends to political analysis. His understanding of politics is often simplistic and he thinks that funny mockery and the sarcastic put-down is a substitute for intelligent debate and critique; it isn't. I often finish this podcast wondering about the intelligence of his wildly enthusiastic audience who seem to be satisfied with childish name calling rather than any kind of insightful examination. Bill, you make me laugh - but I I'll go elsewhere to get a good understanding of what is going on in the world. I don't trust a guy who seems to think that smirking and calling his political adversaries "morons" is an effective way of dealing with some serious issues.”Read full review »
