Feedback - fuel for your growth

Feedback - fuel for your growth

In this episode I share thoughts on what feedback is and how you can take it and use to fuel your growth. When you begin to see feedback as a gift, you'll learn to find a use for the opinion that is given to you as feedback.

Mindset position - for good or for shege?

Mindset position - for good or for shege?

We may never know how the mindset supports our desires or fights against, but we can examine how those who have gone ahead have positioned their minds to win. I see how the mindset can be a catapult to a higher level, or an obstacle.

    Fear Not!

    Fear Not!

'Fear not' doesn't mean that fear would leave you be. Rather, it means to find a way to do it regardless. "Just do it" by Nike is a catchy phrase until it comes to doing. Yet, anyone can do. Surprisingly, the world is full of smart people being ruled over by those with less intelligence but probably with more daring-ability.

Today is a good day, as any, to do and do and do of those things you've archived because of your perception that fear lives in your attic.

Don't Let Trauma Strangle Your Now

Don't Let Trauma Strangle Your Now

In this episode of The RealTalk Podcast, myself and my guest, Sering Jobe, talk about mental health and therapy from an African perspective. Sering shares his story to finding healing from trauma experienced in his journey from childhood to adulthood as an African man. In this open conversation on mental health, he talks about issues that affect a number of people of African descent, and the tipping point for him to finding wellness for himself.

The conversation on Mental Health never stops and we
will keep calling attention to it. One by one, we believe we would be able to change the narrative of the African from one where parents are mostly emotionally unavailable to one where parents are intentional with their children because they understand that their legacy is embedded in the gift of
love and light they give to their children and from their children's children.

The Power of A Positive Community

The Power of A Positive Community

We are probably only as strong as the communities we belong too. And because we tend to go to where we are seen and/or heard, the communities we belong to are usually the places where we find 'acceptance'. Unfortunately, this is not always what happens. Because we want to be accepted, many will go to where they percieve that they are being seen. Even when the seeing doesn't do any good, being seen anyhow to them is better than not being seen at all.

In this conversation with Tunmise Kuku, we talk about community - which really is bout the relationships that we have with the different individuals in our space.

I had fun with this conversation, I hope that you also have a good time listening.

    The Ado About Our Being

    The Ado About Our Being

In this episode I take a dive into the introverted/extraverted conversation.

Nature and Nurture shapes who we become. One, to a large degree, we have very little influence over. The other, we can do a reborn at it if we are unsatisfied with the outcome of its designs that we see in us. This is the case of our attitude; the single, probably, most important factor involved in the final outcome of our being.

While we make a lot of noise about our character/attitude, and some even using it as an excuse or a crutch, the fact remains that we can choose to either accept what we see or acknowledge it and choose and work something better.

Knowing who we are, why we behave how we do and what we can do to be better, can change the trajectory of our lives and put us on a pedestal far beyond what our background would have ever thought possible.
