“The podcast has great topics and guests, but Kara needs to intern with Terry Gross to improve her interviewing technique. She has definite routes she wants various segments of her interviews to go, but instead of prefacing and directing her questions to elicit the information she wants, she tends to ask open-ended questions that give interviewees free range, then she interrupts them multiple times in her efforts to direct the conversation, and the effect is distracting and often-times even jarring. I listen to the podcast for topics I have a really strong interest in, but I skip many I’d like to listen to because listening isn’t fun or pleasant.”
