Bonus: The Family Settles in Egypt

Bonus: The Family Settles in Egypt

In this bonus episode, W. Scott McAndless has a wide-ranging and very important discussion about the story told in Genesis 45:1-47:12 with Micah Belong the Wise Old Llama Enby, host of "The Word in Black and Red." I'm pleased to be able to share this with my followers.

What does Joseph's weeping have to teach us about the redemptive process? How can we reimagine our family dynamics in ways that bring healing? And how can you scam your boss even better?

    Note: Some explicit language.

8.8 How to End Your Gospel

8.8 How to End Your Gospel

As far as we can tell, the original manuscript of the Gospel of Mark ended strangely and abruptly at chapter 16, verse 8.
This is the story of how the author (lets call him Mark) decided to end his gospel in what seems like such a surprising way to us.
Based on Mark 16:1-8 with reference to Mark 3:20-35, Mark 15:6-15 and 1 Corinthians 15:5-7.

8.7 The Streaker in the Garden

8.7 The Streaker in the Garden

The Gospel of Mark includes an odd little incident, mentioned in none of the other gospels, in which Jesus is arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Today's episode is a narrative exploration of the story of the young man who ran away naked in the garden.
    Based on Mark 14:51-52.

Extra: Tamar Seizes the Means of Reproduction

In this extra special episode, W. Scott engages in a wide-range discussion about the amazing story of Tamar with the good folks at "The Word in Black and Red." Sex, prostitution, masturbation, this discussion touches on all of it!
And, yes, the language is explicit and sometimes crude so be advised!

Mighty Prius ,

Makes You Think

Thoroughly enjoy this podcast. The author uses an oblique approach in presenting well known Bible passages. At the end of a podcast, I often go “huh, never thought of it that way or never presented that way.”

I don’t have to agree with someone IOT to listen to them. Iron sharpens iron!

Also love the music.

won't fall asleep ,

You’re a Godsend!!!🙏❤️🙏

Thank you for having such an inspirational and talented Bible story voice. Lost my inspirational pastor whom I loved and you have given him back PLUS!!!

This Ken ,

Reminded me of why I left the Presbyterian church.

I left the church because I had a Marxist pastor who loved Castro. I knew too many people who were lucky to escape with their life’s from Cuba to sit in church and listen to such garbage.

The first season is interesting but then he goes off trying to twist the Old Testament to fit his Marxist ideology. He must be one of the Christians who believes that the Old Testament is a collection of tales having no value to New Testament Christian’s.
