“WTH are they doing with their jarring ad breaks that come in almost mid-sentence? You’ve solved that with the intro and outright to those segments in other podcasts. It sounds either entirely unprofessional or obnoxiously experimental. I’m a years-long fan and listener of SYSK and SYMIHC. Stuff They Don’t Want You To Know isn’t really my style, but I can see the place for it. Ridiculous History doesn’t have a place between Stuff You Missed In History Class and Stuff They Don’t Want You To Know unless it’s as a shorter-form supplement to SYMIHC. Everything they’ve covered so far could have fallen under the far more polished and professional purview of SYMIHC. It annoys me - do they not think women can handle the “weirder” or “ridiculous” stuff? I know How Stuff Works is trying to expand their part of the podcast world by launching a whole bunch at once. I can see the company meetings around a conference table now... throw enough ideas at the wall and at least one has got to stick! And in the mean time we get to collect more ad revenue! I realize growth is the natural progression of this kind of company, but so far I’ve been entirely underwhelmed to annoyed by Ridiculous History and Part-Time Genius. And really, put yourselves in the History category.”
