A Podcast in Decline
The latest episode has prompted me to write this, I really enjoy Andy Scott and think he provides intelligent informed views and expresses them coherently, however the format of the show has completely nose dived in recent months. The latest episode is literally just him interviewing the fighters on the upcoming sky sports (no surprises here) card, whilst it’s excellent to get that insight from boxers, this is not the reason we listen to the show. We listen to the show for debate, and the format of an anchor and panellists is desperately missing from the podcast. I know there are calls for Spencer to return and although I wouldn’t be against that, I think the what people actually want is the old format back, and they are associating Spencer with that, and subsequently want him back. What we have got now is a lazy cut and paste interview edit. The show was doing so well over a year ago, but it’s completely dipped in quality, I get almost nothing from it now, and look forward to the expert opinion and debate on the PPVs on TV (which is a shame that this is what I have needed to resort to) it’s miles behind BBCs 5 Live Boxing Podcast at the moment.
