Placebo - Never Let Me Go
Listen now
Hello there, it’s another Riot Act Reviews innit, the podcast where Steve and Remfry cast their beady eyes over a brand new release. On this episode we are looking at the 8th studio album by glam-alt-rock-cult legends Placebo; Never Let Me Go. It’s been 9 years since we got a full length album from the band, but Placebo have been more than active over the last decade, and it appears we have found the band in a very good place. Never Let Me Go is full of all of the idiosyncratic things that make Placebo Placebo; Brian Molko’s instantly recognisable vocals, and lyrics, the glammy, electro stomp of the band all laced with their trademark acerbic bite. But there is a lot more to the record than just their classic sound, with the likes of Biffy Clyro, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Franz Ferdinand and… er… All Saints being mentioned in our review. Does it work? Well, you’ll have to listen now to find out won’t you! Like the sound of Never Let Me Go? Why not order yourself a copy?
