Wonderful job you two! I enjoyed listening about the many elements I have never heard of 😅 So much work put into this project - I want to say looking forward to more of your work… but… I guess we’ll see!

No more elements? You're kidding! Oh well, I'll just have to go through the series again. And again. And ...Read full review »

I listened to this in 2019 , it was wonderful! Then with much of life shut down in 2020 I’ve revisited it and love the rapport between the hosts. I know how that helps the young and the old folks also enjoy it, I’ve recommended this podcast far and wide.

Each episode is nothing short of fascinating, and very entertaining too.

Really Interesting, easy listening. But too many ads detract and distract from the tone.

So interesting and informative sad that its stopped though.

I am not a chemist, but this is a fascinating and entertaining introduction to all the elements. How they were discovered and named, where they come from and their uses, plus interesting obscure facts. By doing it alphabetically, they are constantly jumping around the periodic table so it is...Read full review »

Having just discovered this wonderful podcast series, I am obsessively listening to about six at a time. Clear, simple, informative, fascinating and fun! What an excellent way to learn. Thank you Alison and Alan

I never got terribly excited about chemistry at school but these Elemental podcasts are fascinating and make me want to find out more. Well done!

My 11-year old grandson and I have learned so much from this podcast! The delightful chemistry between hosts Allan & Alison makes exploring the periodic table an enjoyable experience like never before. Our heartfelt thanks to RNZ for producing this podcast!

We listened to about 20 episodes on our recent trip from Wellington to Tauranga. The kids (8 years old) were fascinated. We all were. This is top notch material from a radio station that has reinvented itself for the digital age.

An excellent trip around the periodic table with two great presenters. The short episodes make for easy listening on the go

Awesome, but I recommended this to a bunch of friends in the U.S. Alison’s ultra-kiwi accent makes it difficult for them. Had to explain when she says ‘bin’ that she’s saying ‘been’.

I am a mathematician that studied chemistry A level 50 years ago. Love this programme! Quirky, interesting and so easy to listen to. Highly recommend.

I am a second year in UoA, and listen to this so I can remember the symbols for the elements better for my exams and it’s actually really fun and entertaining and educational especially if you don’t know a lot about chemistry I think! Highly recommend and my friend in my class told me

It’s a bit cheesy (sorry Allan and Alison) but lots of fun. I’m a chemist by training and I’m discovering elements I’ve never heard of. Dysprosium!

Very informative, the presenters are both excellent. I just wish they were longer episodes, they are so good.

Wish I’d paid attention in high school, catching up 35 years later. I hope a podcast about the basics of chemistry will follow.

I enjoy listening to this. My long ago high school science comes back into play. I look forward to them turning up each week.

Listen to this with my 12 year old. Like the interesting facts and puns.
Roetgenium_rach via Apple Podcasts · New Zealand · 05/03/19
Love this show - extremely easy to listen to. It’s complex stuff, but it’s presented so clearly and it’s a lot of fun. Wish I had this when learning chemistry. Keep it up.

I am really enjoying the fun facts and chatting about the elements!

I failed School Cert science. Had my lessons been presented in this easily accessible and interesting way, a love of science could have been activated a lot earlier. Congratulations on such a fab podcast.

Great bite-sized episodes giving informative snapshots on the elements. Well produced also. Well done RNZ.

If chemistry had been taught like this when I was in secondary school, I might have retained more of the lessons as a kid! Lively, engaging, clear, friendly.
Lippoldtskivich via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/20/19
That is such an ungracious review. I think the show is good And achieves its purpose It’s not intended as a comedic show.
Lame_jokes_man via Apple Podcasts · New Zealand · 03/13/19
I mean, it’s OK, but very superficial. And the attempts at humour are so lame. Could be so much better.
OJB42 via Apple Podcasts · New Zealand · 03/12/19
You can learn a hell of a lot in few minutes. Keep it up
