I just stumbled upon this podcast recently, it’s kind of like listening to old friends tell me stories and that’s really nice.

Listening to Mr Roderick is like sitting and listening to my Dad. I’m in my mid 60s and this guy seems old. I have very much enjoyed his musical work over the years that being the reason I searched out his podcasts. Listening to his conversations has been a treat.

So happy to see a new episode pop up. Really appreciate John’s sharing his feelings on the loss of Friendly Fire and his gaining the direct support of those of us who support him and appreciate his story telling and POV.

I love this podcast which rambles from story to story but always finds a meaningful nugget of truth. I gotta join the patreon! So glad Dan dropping John was fake news! Love you both!

Please tell me you haven’t thrown John to the wolves? Make a decision or make and announcement.

John used to battle fascists by parodying their own language. Then he parodies himself and all the cancel morons pounce. Ignore the trolls and listen

So varied and often so wrong. Subjectivity is bent too far now on so many fronts. Objectivity makes one see what is true and real. You guys are! John and Dan. You help a lot of people. Please come back.

Another excellent job by John across the podcasting medium. Another phone in by Dan. Doesn’t live up to the promise of “America’s top two podcasting personalities.” In any case, it seems the show has been silently canceled by Dan, instead of having the courage to say he took on Road Work...Read full review »

John Roderick is a disgusting racist & a horrible father. Get off the air!

I have listened to several of your podcasts over the past few years. I’ve shrugged off minor annoyances for a while but today’s bean dad Twitter fiasco was the last straw. It brought to light some seriously problematic past tweets including inappropriate homophobic and anti-Semitic slurs. ...Read full review »

John is super racist, anti-semitic, and homophobic on Twitter. Can we be done with racists already? Look up #beandad to see how truly vile and disgusting he is.

Don’t support John Roderick. Actively fight against people like John Roderick.

John Roderick is one of the great raconteurs of our time!

I really enjoy this podcast. In episode 199 - the most recent one as I write this - John Roderick holds forth with an original and astonishingly impromptu summary of politics in America, and what’s led us to our current state. It provided a perspective I hadn’t previously encountered (except...Read full review »

I really enjoy the dynamic between Dan and John. I’m happy to be a Patreon supporter and the bonus shows are an added joy. Life feels cozier with Road Work.

Dan? Is there a problem? Why is it that all your podcast feeds that I subscribe(d) to in iTunes keep doing this insanely annoying thing where the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE PODCAST STARTS DOWNLOADING ITSELF? I don't know what you're doing, and by appearances, it doesn't look like you know,...Read full review »

This is an interesting podacast - John usually tells stories of some kind on his other shows, but this podcast is where he discusses what is going on in his life with Dan. Dan is good host for the podcast, and takes a while to get a bead on him - he is not what you might imagine at first glance -...Read full review »

I listened from Day One up until the one when Dan was whining about not getting paid enough. Just imagine how that sounds to someone who works for a living.

Road Work is, without a doubt, my favoite podcast. There is nothing better than sitting with a hot cup of coffee and listening to Dan and John talk about any subject. 5 stars.

John and Dan. Dan and John. The conversations between these two always entertain, and often hit a bit close to home (episode 93 includes a fascinating look at loneliness). If you like Roderick on the Line give this one a listen, I have a feeling you'll get similar enjoyment; I sure do!Read full review »

Sucker Punch is my favorite episode thus far and I hope that there are more like it. It clearly differentiates this podcast from Roderick on the Line, and is the more contemplative, serious side of John. No offense to the hosts, but early on, this seemed to be an echo of RotL and floundered a...Read full review »

Dan and John are both quite experienced in the podcasting space, and have come together to share their experiences, thoughts, and insights on all sorts of things. It’s a great conversation to listen in on between a couple interesting guys.

John Roderick lectures 18+ year-old millennials on their lack of maturity and pontificates why they shouldn't form political opinions of their own (thesis: only old people are wise enough), while Dan Benjamin plays the role of condescending sidekick yes-man ("uh huh, uh huh, uh huh").Read full review »

You couldn’t get two more different people but somehow, this really works well. On this show, neither John nor Dan sound like their usual selves and that makes for interesting listening. A fascinatingly odd podcast.

John Roderick is an exceptional storyteller / raconteur/ call it what you like. I will listen to him gab on about ANYTHING. And I like Dan Benjamin (the podcast host’s podcast host). So of course I like this podcast. And it’s actually greater than the sum of its parts – I feel that John has got...Read full review »

Just as, if not more enjoyable than Roderick on the Line. The chemistry is great here.
SmallerCap via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/25/15
The podcasts I like are usually conversational in style, so the success of the show is largely dependent on the chemistry that their hosts and guests have. These two are smart, friendly, and good at bouncing ideas and jokes back and forth. It's probably my favorite new podcast of this year.Read full review »

Big fan… All the great shows. This one in particular pairs Merlin Mann’s erstwhile mic buddies with surprisingly funny and charming results. One more step, one more cog in the wheel of the podcasting ultimate mega-crossover event that is clearly being set up for sometime in 2016 or 2017. When...Read full review »
